A Trip to the ER

Yesterday morning I woke up and my eye was gunky. It itched, was dry, and was red. My first thought was pink eye. I decided to go to the Take Care Clinic at Walgreens after work to get some meds and hoped that I wouldn’t have to miss work on Friday. Why? Because if you don’t work the day before and the day after a holiday, you don’t get paid for the holiday. So I went through work without touching my eyes, got my car (I had it inspected and the oil changed) and went over to Walgreens. I was seen by the nurse practicioner who looked at my eye and said “you might have iritis. Go to the ER.” So I went to the ER. I waited FOREVER and finally say a physician’s assistant who said iritis hurt like hell and my eye would be practically swollen shut if I had it. She numbed my eye and looked at it with dye and nothing was wrong. She gave me an ointment for my eye and ordered me off work today. I have a doctor’s excuse, but I don’t think that’s going to help when it comes to getting paid for Monday. *sigh*
Was that the end to my excitement? Of course not. For the third day in a row today I have a terrible pain in my neck on the right side. Tylenol helps, but doesn’t make it go away. Last night as I’m trying to go to sleep I get a charlie horse in my right calf. It too hurts today. I have to wash my bed tomorrow and hope I feel I’m up for church cause Tom wants me to give them a tithe. I don’t feel like going anywhere. I put the ointment in my eye and I can’t see cause its blurry in that eye (my left one). I just want the pain to go away. Is that so much to ask?

Today is going to be a good day

Good morning. I mean, good afternoon. I get to go out and see someone toay. I am so looking forward to it, even if I don’t think I can remember how to do the sling shot cast on. *sigh* I should remember to take my knitting bag, even if I’m not knitting anything currently. That’s right – there’s nothing on the needles. I kept getting frustrated by the cast on for the scarf so I, as the Steel City Knitter would say, put it in time out. I couldn’t for the life of me cast on 28 stitches. Somebody should have shot me. lol.

Well, I better stop blogging and better start going. She’s a wait in’ on me. When she’s not taking apart the dishwasher, that is.

Awake and Alone

Good morning, its A&A time. What’s A&A time? Awake and alone. It can be some of the hardest times of the day. I had a hard time last night. I spent a good amount of time crying. Finances had me down. That, of course, always spreads into my self confidence and self esteem. I was up later than I wanted to be talking to Tom. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I can feel it this morning. I’m awake now, with no one to talk to and no one to hold me. Unless you count Kit. I usually don’t. He’s a good kitty, but its not the same. He just can’t give me a hug and tell me everything is going to be okay. That’s what I really want right now.
Tom was supposed to be home this week, which only makes it harder. I also had a bad dream last night, another thing which makes it harder. At least I know that God loves me, right? That helps. Well, I have to keep going. Have a good day!

It’s 4:34 am – what are you doing?

It’s 4:34 am and I’m getting ready to be on my way to work. I’m too tired for this. I did try to go to bed early last night, but I lay in bed not sleeping for what seemed like hours. Why can I only fall asleep when I don’t have to be up before dawn? So what were you doing at this time this morning? I can only hope you were sleeping and look forward to the fact that next week at this time I will be too.

Well, it’s Friday

Yes, today is Friday and I have to work. Boo. Well, I guess I could live with that, but the thing is tomorrow I have to work, too. Boo! I would rather be going to Nationality Days in Ambridge (a local festival) than going to work. Not to meniont that I’m not exactly looking forward to getting up at 3:30 am. I don’t think anyone would. Well, I’m sure there are some crazies who think that’s a great time to get up, but I’m definitely not one of them. *sigh* I know, I know – I shouldn’t complain. I have a wonderful job and only work 4 days a week, but this Saturday business sucks at times. Oh well, I’m sure I’ll get used to it. Some day. I am glad that I had two days off. I got my laundry done. Yippee! And I did get a lot of work on my story done – I went from 19,300 to 23,930 in the past two days. That’s a lot of words. I found out about the history of my main character. I also beefed up the storyline about my dark forces as well. Important stuff. Well, I best continue on my day and get ready for work. Anyone want to go for me?

Thursday 13 – edition 7

Thirteen things about my book (11 characters and 2 facts)

1. My main character is Dr. Shannon Turnet, a Univeristy professor and scientist who lives in Rhodes.
2. Her love interest is Roger, last name unknown at this point, an artist and sharshall who also lives in Rhodes.
3. Her enemy is Terry Boven, a younger researcher who hates the restrictions Dr. Turnet places on his research.
4. Henry Stoven, a high school student taking University classes in Rhodes is another key character. His grandmother is the Pinelene of Yorkshire and he is a shape changer.
5. Elvenia is the Carar of the fey of Rhodes. She is there leader and knows much about the prophecy which Dr. Turnet shall fulfill.
6. The leader of the daemon of Strideshot is the Cindaeatha, name as yet unknown. He is a creature of evil bent on destroying the fey of Rhodes.
7. A group of young hoodlums who terrorize Terry when he shows for his appointments with the Cindaetha are werewolves.
8. Hannah Turnet is Shannon’s mother and a magical faerie survivor from Turnet.
9. Rian, a young night faerie, has a rather big crush on the young owl Henry.
10. Nessa is a pixie who brings news of Shannon’s sudden decision to visit the fey and learn what they want.
11. Caroline Strideshot, possibly Terry’s love interest, is a police officer in Strideshot who finds him after a bad night with the Cindaetha. Her family founded Strideshot.
12. I don’t know what country Strideshot and Rhodes are set in. It may not even be on earth.
13. I have 22,425 words written and I’ve just discovered the history of Dr. Shannon Turnet.
