The family failure

the-family-failure

There are two children in our family – my sister and me. One of us is a success and one of us is a failure. One of us has a house, is getting married, has a well paying position doing our dream job, is planning on raising a family, is a regular church goer, is being baptized soon, has no debt (other than the house), travels regularly, has maintained her weight, and is loved and adored by just about everyone she meets. The other is thousands of dollars in debt, renting, has a failed engagement, is being paid peanuts, dropped out of college, has cost her mother thousands of dollars, has gained 80lbs, and generally has no plans for the future. My sister would be the first and I would be the second. When it comes to the major things in life I can’t do anything right.

  1. There is one difference between you and your sister that you didn’t mention. She doesn’t struggle every day of her life with depression as you do. IF she had depression and did all that it would be a fair comparison. I know you’re having a rough time but try and cut yourself a tiny bit of slack. Personally I think you need to check your sister’s neck for a barcode… no human’s life is that damned perfect! *hug*

I agree @ barcode. I don’t understand why her life goes so smoothly. Even when it gets hairy, it all works out okay. Mine just doesn’t do that. I don’t think that I can use depression as an excuse for screwing up my life. I’m not sure that would be fair to anyone. Everyone has rough times and goes through illnesses, not just me. But I am thinking about going back on one of my meds. :( *hugz* Thanks for stopping by.

Not everyone loves your sister!!! And ya know what you are in the majority on this one actually, I’d say more people in this world can relate to you more than to her!! I know I sure can :) Love ya lady!

Thanks hon. It was a rough day. I bet you’re right, although I do wish I was more of a success than a failure. Not much I can do about that, though, except keep plodding away. :)
