What’s the point of having blackout days if you’re going to give them the time off anyways? L’s left early, come in late, and has Monday off. M’s left early and will probably leave or not come in next in the next three business days – all black out days. S’s left early. D’s got a day off. All blackout days. I asked to leave early on the first blackout day – and was denied. Apparently
S asked for time off and was denied, but called off anyways. So L has Monday off – so I get to process all the checks. Oh yay. But I have to get the refund file done on Monday since I’ll have a check deposit to do on Tuesday. Mom says I shouldn’t do L’s checks and just say that I didn’t have the time. I have a free pass left – S thinks I should use it Thursday, since I’m taking Friday off. Tina said that I had Friday off, but I’m willing to bet that’s subject to change since I’m not one of her favorites. *shrug* Who knows.

I have an interview next Friday. For a local company. As an executive assistant. I think.

If it wasn’t so late, I’d write. I don’t know what I’d write, but I’d write something.

Its been a long week. And its only halfway over. The garage door broke so both Mom and I are parking in the driveway. They’re supposed to come fix it tomorrow afternoon. The house is cold. I wish I would have put on my sweat suit. I guess its more a jogging outfit. *shrug* I don’t really care. Its burgundy with snowflakes and very warm. My thumb is all wrapped up. Monday night (which was a really horrible night – no one could drive) while I was cutting bagels I also cut myself. It was welling up with blood fairly well, but with a couple of bandaids we managed to make it stop. At that point we wrapped it with gauze and cloth tape and said good night. I showered with Glad press and seal on my thumb. We took it off last night, but it the wound isn’t very strong and is very sore so a new one went on. I’ll probably keep it on for at least one more day before I take it off. Everyone’s been commenting about it. Why is it when you say you cut yourself they always ask “with what?” A knife – what else would I be cutting with? *sigh*

On the job front – work still sucks. My other team lead is going to ask for three days off next week – well, one of those days is a black out day, the second is the first day of open enrollment, and the following day is also in open enrollment. If things are the same as last year we only get one day off during from Nov 15-Jan 31. Well, she’s asking for two days. Anyone want to take any bets on whether or not she gets it off? If she does, I think I just might go to HR. That’ll be three different people who have taken off during blackout. One person twice – came in late once and left early once. I don’t know why they’re treating me so badly, but its not improving the chances of me staying with them.

On the job hunt front – I haven’t heard anything from any of the places that I interviewed with on Thursday. I should schedule another interview with another staffing agency this week. I had a phone interview today, but the guy never called me. When I called him, it said he was going to be off tomorrow and Friday. Nice. I did apply for another job today. I don’t think I’m going to take the PNC job if I even get offered it – its too far and parking is too much. There are no buses I can take for that shift. Its just not going to happen. I’m hoping to find something and something soon. I’m not sure how much more of my current place I can take.

Katy and Mindy are incredibly talented web designers (just check out the custom work at Kiss My Code) and all around good gals. They’ve set up special work at home and stay at home mom sites like At Home Mommy and My Mommy Escape. *looks at Charissa, Barbi, and Techie* One of the coolest and most common sensical site they have is Community Advertising. They offer free advertising and a number of banner and solo ad plans. I know of at least one mom *looks back at Charissa* with a web business who could benefit from that! I was over there just browsing places for over an hour! There’s so much to see and so much to do at all of their sites. How many do they have? Lots – you can find them all at K & M Productions. One day I’m going to order a custom Word Press theme from them. So take a few minutes to stop by and check them out. I can guarantee that you’ll find something you will like!

but I don’t have the energy. I barely have enough energy to think. Today was a long day. I’ll update tomorrow.
